Ambassadors for NCCHS are spirited, students of character that provide leadership, knowledge and enthusiasm to past and present members of the Newman Central Catholic High School family. While welcoming prospective families to join our faith mission & education we also live & instill the pride and tradition of Newman. Ambassadors also inspire others to build lifelong friendships and growth in all aspects of our school.

Newman Catholic has a youth organization that is unique in its charter because it not only includes our own junior and senior student leaders, it is also inclusive of our surrounding public school junior and senior leaders.  BLIND stands for Building Lasting Impressions that Never Die.  The purpose of this organization is to create lasting friendships with other schools and help tear down racism, bullying, hatred, and other issues that plague our youth today.  The group was developed originally by Sterling High School and Newman Central Catholic High School in hopes of bringing the two schools closer together.  Since then, we have expanded to include Rock Falls High School, Fulton HS, Morrison HS, and Prophetstown HS.  We have yearly summer retreats for the Student Leaders, and yearly fall retreats for the freshmen of all schools included.  We know we cannot change the world, but we try to make a difference in our own communities and hope that it spreads through stewardship and good will from our foundation of morals and ethics.

This year, we are considering restarting our debate program after nearly twenty years since we last had one, provided there are enough students who want to participate. In debate you construct affirmative and negative cases around a resolution (you don’t pick – sometimes you will be on the affirmative and sometimes you will be on the negative). After each side makes their case, you go back and forth attacking your opponent's case and defending your own from their attacks. This program builds critical thinking skills, public speaking skills and is great preparation for anyone interested in leadership, government and law. But even if you are interested in science, learning how to argue and communicate is a crucial skill as well. Many former debaters credit their participating in high school debate with their having the skills they need later in life and in their careers.

A regional competition for our school team(s) to learn about environmental concerns over 5 categories of content: aquatics, forestry, wildlife, soils and a 5th category that changes yearly. You and 4 other students work together to outscore other local schools to win the regional area event. Winning teams have earned scholarship money to use when they head off to college and they move on to the state competition in Monticello, Illinois held in April. Teams will be determined this fall and preparation for the regional competition is in the early spring.

This club is for students who want to play games with each other. Both casual and competitive gaming is available. Whether you want to play card games, board games or video games, all are welcome. For chess and video game esports, there are state-level competition series via the IHSA and PlayVS, among others. Some of these are team games so in that case you will have to assemble a team if you want to compete in these games.

A club where you can learn a new skill, enjoy the company of your peers, take a break from technology, and give back to the community! We have students from those just learning how to crochet to the experts that can make cute animals that they have sold their projects. Our club has made and donated 40 hats to the birthing center of CGH and 20 blankets to Liberty Court nursing homes. This year we will be making pet bed pads for Granny Rose and Happy Tails. This club is for everyone and anyone that wants to learn and give back.
