“Newman has been an incredible place for me to grow as a student, athlete, leader, and friend. Whether it be in the science lab or on the track, I am encouraged to work my hardest and achieve excellence by my teachers and coaches. At Newman, there is a culture of constant improvement, and it is noticeable as a student how much our faculty and staff strive to give us the best education possible. Our classes and extracurriculars form meaningful professional and spiritual connections that I will take with me into college and my career. Newman is a family of faith and scholarship that I am honored to be a part of. At the core, our mission of learning and serving one another as Christ would makes Newman the most special. The students, faculty, and staff are on a journey of faith together, and the opportunities for spiritual growth are bountiful. I feel truly blessed to be a Comet.” - Ryan Welty Class of 2026

“Often, people in my life express to me how much they loved high school, and how they wish they could go back. This makes me feel grateful to be at Newman, knowing that I’m making memories that I’m going to long for as I continue to get older. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned since being at Newman is to simply appreciate the present. Whether it’s on the sidelines cheering, listening to Father Doyle’s homily on Wednesday Mass, studying for a test coming up, or laughing at the lunch table with my friends, I’ve realized that the more I think about the future, the more I am missing out on right in front of my eyes. An enormous part of the environment at Newman is the people: the staff, the students, and the supporters. They always offer a shoulder to lean on when needed, but never fail to encourage me to get up and keep going. High school is a pocket of time in which teenagers flourish, and I have full confidence that Newman cultivates values and teaches lessons that shape students as they continue to grow. The community, the encouraged faith life, and the academic drive of Newman has no doubt shaped me into the person, student, and friend I am today.” - Grace Tobias Class of 2026

“Newman is not just a school, it’s a family. As a freshman, I learned quickly that Newman is a family that is held together by our faith. During school we begin and end our day with prayer, and the students and staff are given numerous opportunities throughout the day to be with God. Some examples are all-day adoration in the chapel once a week and Kairos leading the Rosary on Fridays. Newman Athletics also incorporates faith into their sport. Teams go to Mass before games and pray before/after each game and practice, which helps players and coaches grow closer together as a team and as a faithful community. Newman is a place where students are empowered to reach their full potential while also being surrounded by supportive teachers, staff, and fellow students who genuinely care about their success, and provide guidance and encouragement. From day one at Newman, the freshman class was welcomed and we experienced that Newman is a place where you grow in faith and become the best version of yourself.” - Grace King Class of 2028
