Bobbie Hannan

Department Head and Theology Teacher

Mrs. Hannan received her B.A. in Business Management from Western Illinois University and worked for fourteen years in business. When relocating to Sterling, she enjoyed substitute teaching at St. Mary School in Sterling, while studying to become certified by the Diocese of Rockford to teach Theology. Mrs. Hannan joined the Newman faculty in 2001 and teaches Theology Level 2 and Level 4.  As Department Head, she is the Director of Spiritual Retreats and enjoyed her role as “Mother of Kairos” for seventeen years. Mrs. Hannan serves on the School Improvement Team and is a co-faculty advisor for prom.  

Mrs. Hannan is also active in her parish including representing the Sterling Deanery on Bishop Malloy’s Pastoral Council in Rockford.  She has been an Extraordinary Minister and Lector for many years and has previously served on the Sacred Heart Church's Pastoral Council. She is part of the Church’s ministry in bringing communion to Parkway Nursing Home on Sunday mornings.
