The Social Science department covers a diverse yet interconnected course of study! There are the traditional histories--world and American, and US Government to be sure! Then you can study Sociology and Psychology--studying how societies and the individuals in them work together and ...sometimes not. It's what makes up the histories! Geography helps us understand how different groups living even on the same continent could develop differently in ethnicity, language, culture and then of course, history. It all fits together like a big jigsaw puzzle. The department is chaired by Mr. Somers who has considerable experience in all the topics of the department. He leads the team of Mr. McKinley (shared with the Math dept.), Mr. Oetting, Mr. LeMay and Mr. Wylde. These highly qualified and experienced teachers will lead students through the paths of history helping them to discern life lessons. "We should not look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past errors, and for the purpose of profiting by dearly bought experience." George Washington, (1732-1799), first President of the USA.
